Based on the plan, the Industrial & Terminal business area will be divided into two new business areas: Terminals and Load Handling. Cargotec’s Supply organisation, which develops factory operations and related sourcing activities, will be divided into the new business areas. The Terminals business area will be led by Unto Ahtola as Executive Vice President, Terminals. Unto Ahtola is currently responsible for business area Industrial & Terminal. Axel Leijonhufvud has been appointed to lead the new business area Load Handling as Executive Vice President, Load Handling. He is currently responsible for Supply. These changes will be effective from January 1, 2012.
Except for the changes in responsibilities, the Executive Board will remain unchanged as will the Marine and Services Business areas. Cargotec’s external financial reporting segments will be Marine, Terminals and Load Handling as of January 1, 2012.

Recent strategic initiatives such as the Navis acquisition and a planned joint venture in China strengthen Cargotec’s position in container terminals business. The renewed focus on Load Handling also aims to strengthen Cargotec’s market position in these core markets.
