In addition, Bromma all-electrics are present in automated terminals in Virginia in the US, Hamburg in Germany, Algeciras in Spain, three automated terminals in Korea and in Ningbo, China. Bromma anticipates further automated spreader orders later in 2011, representing one of the most significant new trends in the industry.
“A spreader breakdown is the last thing you want in an automated operation and this is an important reason why Bromma is doing so well with these projects,” said Vikram Raman, Bromma’s commercial director.
Many customers are also looking for greener product solutions and Bromma’s all-electric yard spreaders reduce emissions – 200 tonnes of emissions per spreader over the spreader’s lifetime. This emission reduction from a single Bromma all-electric yard spreader is equivalent to the emissions produced from driving a Volvo sedan 42 times around the entire world. Bromma spreaders are lighter and do not have an always-running motor.
