Millionth teu for FCT

For only the third time, and never so early in the year, throughput at FCT (part of NCC group – Russia’s leading container terminal operator) exceeded 1m teu. Previously, the millionth teu was handled on December 5, 2008 and November 11, 2010.

The millionth container arrived from the Port of Xiamen, China on the mv Maersk Vancouver

According to the company, FCT is the leading container terminal in Russia and the Baltic Sea region and it is linked to the largest European ports (Rotterdam, Hamburg, Bremerhaven and Antwerp) by a comprehensive feeder network. Occupying 89 ha and comprising an operational quay length of 780 m with an alongside depth of 11.5 m, FCT has an annual capacity of 1.35m teu and one of Europe’s largest reefer storage capacity – 2,700 plugs
