SPRC to become first South American user of RTLS

Working with its Navis SPARCS TOS (Terminal Operating System), the system will integrate with Navis Star Technology Alliance member, Zebra Technologies, using its WhereNet solution to track the location of trucks, utility tractor rigs (UTR) and general assets across the terminal in real-time.

The location information will ensure the TOS has accurate location information on which to make optimal decisions for job selection and despatch.

As the first terminal in South America to use RTLS technology, SPRC will be able to track trucks and identify queue order in the rubber tyre gantry (RTG) stack. The increased visibility will allow the terminal to optimise RTG job assignment and correctly prioritise competing gate and vessel jobs for peak efficiency and cost savings.
