Ron Widdows to take over as Rickmers’ CEO
Widdows will take over the role on April 1, 2012 with Rickmers’ CFO Dr Ignace Van Meenen acting as his deputy.
Widdows has over 40 years’ experience in the shipping industry, the last 31 years of which were with APL and Neptune Orient Lines Ltd where he was Group President and CEO.”
He is currently the chairman of the World Shipping Council, which is based in Washington DC, and is on the Advisory Boards of the US Merchant Marine Academy and the International Transport Forum, based in Europe. He is a past chairman of the Transpacific Stabilization Agreement.
