With a lifting capacity of 64-tonnes and a maximum outreach of 35 metres, the new machine will be used to handle large volumes of containerised and heavy lift and/or oversized transhipment cargo in feeder vessels and barges.
“The Liebherr solution will be an integral part of Bayswater’s facility plans that enable safe and efficient handling of containerised and heavy lift cargo. With the company’s eco-efficient products and services, Bayswater will receive the benefit of lower energy consumption, reduced spare parts and improved operating efficiency,” said Kelvin Tan, a director of Bayswater.
The decision in favour of Liebherr followed a comprehensive evaluation by the customer of available mobile harbour crane systems, including rigorous process and performance analyses. Other factors influencing the decision to order the LHM 180 crane included the ability for quick delivery and the manufacturer’s local sales and service station.
