Containerships adds Pori to its short-sea network

Containerships is adding the Finnish port of Pori to its short-sea network from next month (March). The new service will consist of a weekly sailing from Pori to Sodertalje (Sweden), Klaipeda (Lithuania), Teesport (UK), Sheerness (UK) and Ghent (Belgium) with further connections to Rotterdam, Ireland and St. Petersburg via transhipment. Ports set new milestones in 2011

Container traffic in the Port de Barcelona passed the 2m teu mark in 2011, representing a 4% increase on the previous year; the exact container volume handled in the port during 2011 was 2,033,549 teu.
