In addition, the company has now been given the go-ahead to order an LHM 600 mobile harbour crane from Liebherr and three reachstackers, two TFC 45 HC units from Terex and an empty container handler from Kalmar. The latter are expected to be delivered during the second quarter of this year. These three contracts total €4.87m (US$6.36).
The terminal tractors have already been put into operation, while the RTGs are currently under construction at the port. These are equipped with GPS-assisted autosteering for safety and increased productivity, which keeps the cranes on a pre-programmed straight driving path between the stacks within the container yard. They are expected to be commissioned and ready for operation by April.
With a maximum radius of 58 m and a total lifting capacity of 208 tonnes in certain configurations, the LHM 600 mobile harbour crane will be capable of handling super post-Panamax-sized vessels. It can be adapted for use with heavy lifts, bulk materials, containers or general cargoes.
