Phase one, with an estimated investment of US$200m, will provide an annual capacity of 600,000 teu, handling both destination and transhipment cargo. Negotiations are currently underway with MSC and CMA CGM.
Like its sister port Yilport Gebze, the new facility will have a draught in excess of 16 metres alongside to accommodate the largest container vessels afloat. The 400 m long berth will be supported by four ship-to-shore gantry cranes, each with a 22 container-wide outreach capable of handling vessels with a carrying capacity of up to 16,000 teu.
There will also be a 250 m berth with two mobile harbour cranes for feeder vessels, along with Ro-Ro and break bulk berths to accommodate all cargo interests.
