Pusan Newport’s new Disaster Recovery Centre goes live

The first of its kind in South Korea, the system was set up and implemented over a five month period by South Korean maritime logistics IT company CyberLogitec, a subsidiary of Hanjin Shipping Holdings

Unlike previous DR systems which simply provided remote data duplication, PNC’s DR Centre has real time data duplication in addition to supporting the port’s auto equipment and other internal/external system interfaces based on virtualisation solutions. Furthermore, it is South Korea’s first DR Centre in an automatic terminal where safety of data processing system is essential.

In natural disaster and cyber terror situations, PNC’s DR Centre is capable of immediate and sequential restoration of data processing resources and so securing business permanency within three hours of the RTO (Recovery Time Objective).
