The first sailing is planned from Hong Kong on June 3 with the 6,350 teu MOL PARTNER. Hanjin will take 500 teu per week on the service under a slot exchange arrangement with MOL. MOL’s New World Alliance partners will also purchase slots on the service, with APL taking 400 teu per week and HMM taking 300 teu per week. \\r\\nOf note, the new service will way port at the Med hub of Algeciras in both directions, allowing it to offer connections to the Western Med and to West Africa. At Algeciras, the ships will be handled at the Hanjin operated TTI Algeciras terminal. Evergreen and Hanjin will offer relay services using the Med-West Africa relay service (WAF) operated jointly by Hanjin and UASC. \\r\\n\\r\\nEvergreen is to join as ship provider, with the assignment of the 3,681teu YELLOW SEA, currently en route from the Far East (where Evergreen took her in charge) to the Med. The WAF connects the Algeciras TTI terminal to Lagos, Tema and Abidjan and succeeds to a joint service involving MOL, Hanjin and UASC.\\r\\n(Source: Alphaliner)\\r\\n
