Maersk Line has notified CMA CGM of its decision and gave the six months notice required for this change. Maersk Line said that it seeks alternatives to fulfil East Coast of South America and Intra America cargo requirements.
This joint service was organised in September 2009 through the merger of CMA CGM\’s Brazilian Express service (Brazex) and Maersk\’s North Coast Express (NCX). It currently deploys six ships of 2,800 teu (three ships from each carrier) and calls at Manzanillo (Panama), Kingston, Port of Spain, Vitoria, Santos, Paranagua, Itajai, Santos, Rio de Janeiro (CMA CGM ships only), Cartagena (Colombia) and Manzanillo (Panama).
