Although these instructions are normally received delivered through a website, EDI system or a broker, around 30% are still received by fax or email. These have to be manually verified and handled by trained personnel which is time-consuming, costly and inconvenient not only for Hanjin Shipping, but also for most shipping companies and transportation companies.
The D-CUBE system supplied by Hanjin IT affiliate CyberLogitec, allows Hanjin to automatically input fax and e-mail shipping instructions data and as a result, Hanjin’s document processing time has been reduced by more than 50% while increasing business productivity and customer satisfaction.
“There are hundreds of various forms and different keywords used in each shipping instruction which made the process difficult to automate,” said Eun-Jo Chung, IT Director of Hanjin Shipping. “However, Cyberlogitec was able to develop the industry’s first document automation system in a very short period without any hassle.”
