The reeling cable used is a medium voltage rubber insulated and sheathed drum reeling cable that can operate in temperatures from -20ºC to +60ºC. It differs from other similar cables available in that it has a modified internal cable design, tightening the structure against the internal relative movement to accommodate high speed applications; this prevents the common problem of twisting that affects cables reeling at high speed.
Twisting elongates cable cores unevenly, which leads to conductors on the outer layer of a strand facing a greater risk of being broken. A broken cable reeling at high speed is dangerous and can cause extensive and costly damage to equipment.
Similar applications have been installed by the manufacturer worldwide, including the Busan Port terminal in Korea.
