PortMiami tunnel breakthrough

The tunnel-boring machine known as ‘Harriet’, has broken through at PortMiami, completing the first of two tunnels under Biscayne Bay linking the port with the mainland. Walvis Bay expansion put on hold

Expansion plans at the Port of Walvis Bay in Namibia have been ‘put on hold’ after the Namibian Ports Authority (Namport) cancelled the N$3bn (US$ 365,000) engineering, procurement and construction phase, which had been awarded to the China Harbour and Engineering Company (CHEC), the only company of eight shortlisted.
