Talks between the International Longshoremens Association and the United States Maritime Alliance, which represents port employers, began again last Monday in Florida.
The contract covers about 15,000 dockworkers who load and unload containers, including roughly 1,800 workers in Hampton Roads. As of late Monday afternoon, a strike was still not definite and talks were continuing, according to Jim McNamara, an ILA spokesman.
