“We are excited about the opportunity to be part of this new venture in Colombia, a very dynamic and innovative region of South America,” said Michael Schwank, president of Tideworks
BCT is a joint venture between SSA International and Sociedad Portuaria del Norte (SNP): it will be managed by Santa Marta International Terminal Company (SMITCO) and will have an initial annual capacity of around 122,000 teu with plans to expand the container yard to five hectares and increase capacity to 190,000 teu during a second phase of development.
BCT will deploy Tideworks’ Mainsail Terminal Management System®, Forecast® by Tideworks and Spinnaker Planning Management System® to manage container operations. Tideworks will provide all associated implementation services including project management, software customisation, user training, and go-live assistance. Once the technology is implemented, Tideworks will provide 24/7 technical support and all software upgrades.
