The VIT privatisation debate is centred on the APM Terminals (APMT) US$4bn unsolicited bid conceptual concession proposal during 2012, to take over the operations of the Virginia ports from Virginia International Terminals.
Stating that as CEO of the facility it is “pretty obvious where my opinions lie”, Dorto, originally from New York but now an adopted Virginian, said, “The State is obligated to look at what is best for the State”.
