ILA, NYSA Reach Tentative Contract Deal

This is good news since it most likely means that East and Gulf Coast ports will avoid a work stoppage. Successful completion ofthe ILA and United States Maritime Association (USMA) master agreement is contingent on completion of supplemental local contracts, and many local port contracts are reportedly close to agreement. ILA and USMX are due to meet next week to negotiate some final issues of the master contract agreement before its ratification.
