With a span of 43 m, the cranes will extend over 14 containers wide and stack 1-over-6 high; they also have a wide leg and a narrow leg outreach of 17.5 m and 16.5 m respectively, giving a total bridge length of 77 m. The will be equipped with telescopic spreaders and will have a lift height over the rail of 21m.
“Liebherr has for many years supplied ship-to-shore container cranes and rubber tyre gantry (RTG) cranes to the Middle East but this order represents our first supply of rail mounted gantry to that region,” said Gerry Bunyan, sales and marketing manager for Liebherr.
The order for the cranes was placed by Sinopec E&C Middle East Co on behalf of Sabic.
