Berthold joined the Liebherr Group in 1989, as sales manager for Liebherr mobile harbour cranes (LHM) focusing on North and South America and Africa. In 2000 he was appointed sales director Liebherr mobile harbour cranes a position he has held for the past thirteen years during which he achieved “a remarkable growth in annual sales from 38 units in 2000 to 94 units in 2012,” according to the company.
Berthold said he is looking forward to the challenges the new position brings. “I have always enjoyed the close collaboration with our customers and I am happy that this will not change despite my expanded focus that will include ship and offshore cranes.”
In 2012 Liebherr’s mobile harbour crane division achieved the highest annual turnover in is history. Looking to the future, Berthold says that his aim is “to further increase the synergies between Liebherr’s maritime departments and to strengthen their position as innovative and successful market leaders.”
