Exolgan Container Terminal in Buenos Aires, Argentina has purchased a further ship-to-shore (STS) container crane, with commissioning due to be completed in the coming months. This will bring to nine the number of Liebherr STS units at the Exolgan Container Terminal.
As with its previous crane, which was handed over last September, the new unit will have an outreach of 51.5 m and a safe working load of 62.5 tonnes under twin-lift spreader. It will have a lift height over rail of 40 m and will be able to handle vessels with up to 20 rows of containers stowed across the deck.
The second order came from HPC Ukrania, which has purchased three further STS cranes for the new deepwater container terminal at Quarintine Mole, Odessa.
