In addition, the company has changed its method of handling empty containers from reach stackers to a new empty container handler (ECH), thereby improving efficiency while increasing speed, safety and environmental sustainability.
The Volvo-Penta powered Terex ECH, with the latest advances in fuel consumption and emissions, is designed to lift a total of nine tonnes and stack empties up to seven high. The speed and handling of containers has been improved as the truck is capable of travelling at speeds of 28 kph when empty and 26 kph loaded; containers can be raised and lowered at half-a-metre per second.
Operational safety is enhanced by a raised ROPS/FOPS cabin that improves the operator’s view; other features include an ergonomic seat and controls, noise dampening systems, air conditioning and ‘Logicontrol Plus’ technology, with an automatic emergency stop mechanism to protect both the motor and the load.
