Liebherr secures STS and RTG order from Peru

These cranes, the first of their kind to be delivered to Peru by Liebherr, will join a pair of the manufacturer’s mobile harbour cranes (LHM 550) that were recently delivered to the port.

With a safe working load of 55-tonnes under a twin lift spreader, the STS cranes will have an outreach of 51 m, a back reach of 17 m and a span of 30.48 m. The lifting height above the rail will be 36 m.

The RTGs will be capable of stacking 1-over-5 high, spanning seven containers and a truck lane; the units allow simultaneous motion of all drives and feature long travel “inching”, thus eliminating the need for side shift on the spreader.  Gantry aligned steering eliminates crabbing when travelling along the stack.
