MOL Comfort breaks up

The two sections of the hull, both laden with containers, are drifting apart in an east-northeast direction, the fore part of the hull is located around 13’00”N 60’40”E and the aft part is about 19 miles southwest from that point.

Tugs are to be sent to the area to tow each section.  There are no indications as yet of any major oil leak near the site.  Details of containers that might be lost overboard or damaged during the incident are being confirmed.
