With over 1,500 daily passes and an average of 150 visitor passes handled every day for representatives of shipping lines and agents, freight forwarders, trucking companies and suppliers, the new ‘e-Pass’ system is expected to significantly reduce processing and waiting times for customers.
The new system allows for online customer registration, the generation of distinct usernames and passwords, as well as application for different gate passes. It also provides document submission and online status tracking.
Commenting on the introduction of the system, Sultan Al Jaberi, vice president for regulations and HSE at ADPC, said: “The new e-pass offers customers a much easier and quicker process through Abu Dhabi’s ports. We are certain that the advanced customer services, complemented by the new state-of-the-art technology, will deliver both supply chain long-term commercial value to ADPC and our customers.”
