Batumi deploys Tideworks

Established under a 48-year concession agreement to operate in the Port of Batumi in Adjara, Georgia on the Black Sea, BICT is a container terminal, ferry and dry bulk handling facility. A unit of International Container Terminal Services, Inc. (ICTSI), BICT is the exclusive container terminal operator in the port. It is the main transportation point in the Black Sea basin and the only maritime terminal in Georgia where containers are handled and stored at the same location.

“We are excited to help BICT expand its technologies to include Tideworks’ Mainsail Vanguard, Forecast and Traffic Control,” said Michael Schwank, president of Tideworks.

“We have been impressed with Tideworks since the successful installation and deployment of its Spinnaker system,” said Aurelio Garcia, general manager of BICT. “It was an easy and seamless step to upgrade the TOS to Traffic Control and Mainsail Vanguard, two additional systems that will continue to help us operate our thriving terminal at peak efficiency and productivity.”
