After the final contract is received in October the winner will have nine months to submit an initial plan.
The project is reported to include extensive development plans, including the creation of four new seaports in the provinces surrounding the canal, a new industrial zone west of the Gulf of Suez and a “technology valley” that will host “several technology projects.”
Work is expected to begin on project infrastructure next year.
