As one of the only deep-sea ports in Northern Europe where mega container ships can be accommodated, Generale de Manutention Portuaire (GMP) Le Havre currently handles 1.2m teu annually between two terminals, with a 5% expected growth over the next five years. Following the successful launch of the TOS at Terminal North, implementation at the second facility, Terminal De France, is expected go live in Q2, 2014.
In the short time that GMP Le Havre has been using N4 at Terminal North, the terminal has already experienced operational productivity improvements and expects much more as the system is optimised. N4 handled GMP’s normal operational volumes from day one with no issues and no drop in productivity.
“The implementation of a new TOS is an investment both financially and physically in terms of man-power,” says Louis Jonquiere, CEO of GMP Le Havre. “We’re confident in the future of Terminal North as we have already seen promising results from the N4 implementation”.
