As part of what it calls a “strategic effort to develop and enhance its services in South America”, shipping line ZIM is serving the port of Asunción via a barge service connecting to Montevideo, Uruguay and onward through the company’s global and regional network to major trade routes.
The company operates the Asia–East Coast South America (ECSA) route with direct connections to major ports in China, as well as an elaborate intra-America network connecting to destinations worldwide via its hub in Kingston, Jamaica.
Paraguayan cargo will connect in Montevideo to three international services calling at the port:
