The proposed P3 Alliance of Maersk Line, MSC and CMA CGM has won US regulatory approval from the Federal Maritime Commission (FMC).
The alliance of the world’s three biggest shipping lines was approved by four votes to one at a meeting of FMC Commissioners on Thursday, the commission said in a statement.
The FMC ruling takes effect from 24 March and will only apply to U.S. trades.
