The CMA CGM Group is preparing to introduce a new service, the Asia Southern Red Sea Express (REX3), a fixed-day weekly service designed to broaden market coverage and improve efficiency.
The new service, which starts on 8 May, is in addition to the REX2 service and will improve the Group’s port coverage and help meet the growing demand in the red Sea market.
The set-up has been developed through a Vessel Sharing Agreement with United Arab Shipping Company (UASC) and China Shipping Container Lines (CSCL). The company hopes the deployment will improve transit times between ports in Asia and the Red Sea. Exports in the Red Sea should also see a benefit through the improved port coverage.
