Liebherr Container Cranes has signed a contract to supply two ship-to-shore container cranes to Flinders Adelaide Container Terminal, as part of a 30-year strategic plan to boost service levels at the Port Adelaide Terminal.
The post-Panamax cranes will have an operational outreach of 50 m and a safe working load (SWL) of 65 tonnes under twin lift spreader and 80 tonnes under hook beam. The lift height over rail will be 38 m, with a span of 25.3 m and the back reach of 20 m.
The investment in the cranes is part of a series of upgrades at the port that aim to put Port Adelaide on the map as a world class container facility, with an annual projected throughput of 700,000 teu while allowing for increased vessel turnaround at the port.
