The Ports of Helsinki, Finland and Tallinn, Estonia have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to develop a cargo route between Vuosaari and Muuga ports in the near future.
The MoU between the two ports was signed on Wednesday May 12, 2014 during a visit to Helsink’si Vuosaari Harbour by Estonian president Toomas Hendrik Ilves’s.
With the shipping sulphur directive becoming effective next year’ the dynamics of the Gulf of Finland traffic will be subject to change and the short distance between Helsinki and Tallinn could well become more interesting to shipping lines.
