Konecranes unveils its next generation of lift trucks at CeMAT

Konecranes’ new C series lift truck includes a completely new driver’s cabin with first class features to enhance safety, comfort and productivity. The C series also boasts increased reach stacker lifting speed, an enhanced remote monitoring system and improved engine performance.

Spanning the entire Konecranes product range of lift trucks (10-65 ton fork lift trucks, container lift trucks and the full range of reach stackers), the C series will be gradually introduced into the market starting with regions where emission regulations EU Stage IV and EPA Tier 4 Final are in force.

Driver-friendly cabin

The improved driver’s cabin offers superior spaciousness and visibility made possible by a more ergonomic layout with integrated seat-mounted controls, while the heating, ventilation and air conditioning system (HVAC) offers a 50% overall capacity improvement.

The industry’s first 7 inch touch screen colour display provides full truck monitoring including eco-drive, fuel management and driver login. The monitor also supports an optional integrated rear-view camera and tyre pressure monitoring.

Improved engine

The C series is equipped with common platform engines that meet current emission legislation up to EU Stage IV and EPA Tier 4f. These new engines save up to 6% in fuel consumption over stage IIIB. All engines can be supplied with a start/stop function to further reduce fuel consumption, typically between 5 – 15%.

The service interval on the new engines has been doubled to 1,000 hours and is now aligned with the standard service interval of the lift truck, resulting in operational cost savings and increased uptime.

TRUCONNECT remote monitoring on lift trucks

Konecranes TRUCONNECT remote monitoring software is also included in the new C series. TRUCONNECT monitors everything from fuel consumption and travelling, to utility work and safety critical events. TRUCONNECT now enhances operational safety with new features such as tyre pressure monitoring and shock sensors that track impacts and shocks. In addition, the system continuously surveys the cleanliness of the hydraulic oil for optimal reliability and maintenance management. Alarms are received instantly via SMS and e-mail.

Tyre saving technology

Konecranes offers what it calls unique tyre saving technology across its entire range. Uses a drive axle with independent drive of all four wheels, it extends tyre life by up to three times the average.
