The 8,500 teu capacity CMA CGM Cendrillon has become the largest container vessel in history to call at the Croatian Port of Rijeka, when it berthed at the International Container Terminal Services, Inc. (ICTSI) Adriatic Gate Container Terminal (AGCT) last week.
The vessel’s arrival at Rijeka, which has become a core port in the Adriatic, followed the announcement that a 13.5 m draught alongside the berth at the container terminal has been confirmed.
Capacity will be increased at the beginning of next year (2015) when the construction works on the intermodal yard are completed, resulting in a total capacity of over 600,000 teu.
