Liebherr STS cranes to Chile’s TPS
Ireland-based Liebherr Container Cranes is to supply three ship-to-shore (STS) container cranes to Terminal Pacífico Sur Valparaíso in Chile.
The cranes, which are the largest the company has ever manufactured for the west coast of South America, have an outreach of 62 m and a safe working load of 65 tonnes under twin lift spreader. The new units will allow the terminal to meet the requirements of its shipping lines, some of which are operating ultra-large container vessels.
The cranes incorporate the latest security and control technologies and an integrated remote monitoring system allow for efficient operation and for managing the units from within the terminal.
