The European Union has given the P3 Alliance the all clear to begin operations having found no anti-competitive impact, reports the International Transport Journal.
“At this stage, the Commission does not intend to open proceedings in relation to P3 or G6,” said Antoine Colombani, Commission spokesman for competition policy, referencing the alliance of Maersk Line, MSC and CMA CGM and the G6 alliance of APL, HL, HMM, Mitsui, NYK and OOCL.
The commission will follow market developments and remain vigilant in case of any impediment to competition which may arise from the alliances.
