Hamburg Süd and Chile’s CCNI have signed a preliminary agreement that will see the Germany-based carrier acquire CCNI’s container liner activities, including the related general agency functions.
The acquisition, scheduled to be executed and completed by no later than 31 December, is subject to Due Diligence, execution of a Sale & Purchase Agreement and approval by the competent authorities.
Hamburg Süd intends to strengthen its liner network to and from South America by integrating the CCNI liner services. The company hopes that merging the work forces of the pair will help to create an even stronger organisation.
