Ports of Auckland celebrated strong full year results with trading profit before income tax rising by 65.5% to NZ$73.5m (US$61.4m) and net profit after tax up by 90% to NZ$74m (US$61.9m).
In the 12 months to the end of June, container volumes increased by 18.3% to 968,741 teu from 818,819 last year, confirming Auckland’s standing as New Zealand’s largest container port.
Chief executive Tony Gibson said: “We had an outstanding year. Container volumes recovered and the volume of non-containerised freight increased to record levels.
