A new railway crane with an annual capacity of 90,000 loading units has begun full operations at logport III in Duisburg, Germany, completing the first stage of capacity expansion at the facility.
A second identical crane is to follow by the end of this year to further expand capacity and guarantee that the site can accommodate increased demand and rail traffic.
The overall investments for the two cranes, as well as the 700 m long new crane tracks and the 3 ha expansion of the terminal area, amounts to about €10m (US$13m).
