Terminal operator Cia. Bandeirantes Logistica Integrada (Bandeirantes) in the Brazilian Port of Santos has increased its container handling equipment fleet, with an additional two Terex TFC 46 M reachstackers.
With a wheel base of 6.5 m and a maximum travel speed of 25 km/h, the machines can stack up to six full high-cube containers in the first row and up to five in the second row. Having a lifting speed of 0.48 m/s, the maximum load capacity is 45-tonnes in the first, 35-tonnes in the second and 19-tonnes in the third row.
“We started operations with our first Terex reachstacker in 2005 and since then we have systematically expanded our fleet to six machines. In our terminal in Santos, we have to make use of the space as efficiently as possible and need compact and maneuverable machines, which can stack containers as high as possible,” said José Eduardo Ornellas Priante, maintenance manager at Bandeirantes.
