Philippine-based terminal operator International Container Terminal Services Inc. (ICTSI) is set to continue its strategy of targeting emerging markets by turning to Africa.
Fernando Gaspar, ICTSI senior vice president, told The Philippine Daily Inquirer: “The place where we are making a very big push is Africa. Africa is coming up right now. We want to do in Africa over the next few years what we have done in Latin America over the last seven years.”
He added that ICTSI would be interested in operating terminals in South Africa, if they were to be privatised, even though South Africa is a more developed and slower-growing economy.
