Konecranes has received a repeat order for three rail mounted gantry (RMG) cranes from Haifa Port Company in Israel, bringing the number of RMGs used in the port and supplied by the manufacturer to 15. The machines will be delivered at the end of 2016 to early 2017.
To be equipped with the Truconnect® remote monitoring system, the RMGs will work in container yard operations, lifting 1-over-5 containers high, with a lifting capacity of 40 tonnes and a rail span of 32 m. They will also be equipped with active load control for high stacking productivity, along with DGPS skew control.
“These RMG cranes were options to the original contract,” says Jussi Sarpio, general manager, RMG Cranes, Konecranes/Port Cranes. “I’m glad to receive this repeat order. It shows that we performed well with the initial deliveries, and that the cranes are delivering the performance and reliability needed by Haifa Port Company.”
