UASC orders 2,000 Daikin reefer units
United Arab Shipping Company (UASC), has announced an order of 2,000 reefer containers from Daikin, with further units to follow this year.
The containers come fitted with the Japanese manufacturer’s latest LXE 10E “H” model reefer unit, producing a 50% drop in power consumption compared to the earliest model from 2001.
Ongoing investment in the units, which feature a sensitive temperature control system to carry frozen and chilled cargoes, will enhance the shipping company’s access to South American trades, following a recent service agreement with Hamburg Süd.
