Japanese shipping line Mitsui O.S.K. Lines (MOL) announced today that it has signed a deal for the construction of four 20,000 teu container ships with Korean shipbuilders Samsung Heavy Industries.
MOL also concluded a memorandum of understanding (MOU) for the long-term chartering of two 20,000 teu container ships with Japanese company Shoei Kisen Kaisha, which will be built by Imabari Shipbuilding.
These six vessels will be launched and delivered in 2017 and will work on the Asia to Europe service.
