Terex Port Solutions (TPS) has revealed a new generation of lift trucks, which are scheduled for a spring release.
Combining the strengths of two legacy brands – PPM and Fantuzzi – as well as the latest technological innovations – the ‘Liftace’ 5-31 reachstacker will be launched first, with four ‘Stackace’ models set to follow.
Klaus Peter Hoffmann, vice president and managing director of TPS, said: “The mixture of competitive operating costs, ease of maintenance and convenience at the man/machine interface makes the new machines efficient overall packages.”
The Liftace reachstacker is designed for fast and precise stacking with a wheelbase of 6,200 mm and the ability to stack up to five high-cube containers in the first row. The maximum load capacity is 31 tonnes in the second row and 15 tonnes in the third.
Focussing on lowering operating costs, the interplay of engine and gearbox with the drive axle, together with reduced overall weight and good load distribution of the chassis, will contribute to low tyre wear. The modern drive train and a load-sensitive hydraulic system reduces fuel consumption, supported by an EcoPower operating mode.
Hoffmann added: “The Terex Liftace 5-31 reachstacker platform provides a basis for all other developments in the area of lift trucks; in other words for reachstackers, full and empty container handlers and forklifts. Therefore, the machines have major technical points in common, enabling terminal operators to deploy their drivers and service technicians with more flexibility and cost-efficiently.”
