Konecranes has received an order from PT Pelabuhan Indonesia III (Persero) for three ship-to-shore (STS) cranes, to be delivered to the PT Terminal Petikemas Surabaya (TPS) at the end of 2016.
The three high-performance cranes will have a lifting capacity of 60 tonnes and an outreach of 46 m, enabling the facility to handle larger vessels after the Surabaya West Access Channel improvement is complete. Once the cranes are operational, the facility will have a total of seven STS cranes and 16 rubber-tyred gantry (RTG) cranes supplied by the manufacturer.
In addition to the latest order from Indonesia, Konecranes is currently delivering two large Automated Stacking Crane (ASC) systems to Pelindo III, one to Lamong Bay Terminal in Surabaya, with inauguration this May, and another consisting of automated RTGs to PT Terminal Petikemas Semarang (TPKS) in Central Java.
