Konecranes sells four RTGs to TCV in Valencia

Konecranes sells four RTGs to TCV in Valencia

Finnish company Konecranes has received an order from TCV Stevedoring Company (TCV) for four rubber-tyred gantry (RTG) cranes for its container terminal in Valencia.

The cranes will be delivered in the first quarter of 2016 and will mean that TCV has a fleet of 20 Konecranes RTGs.

The 16-wheel RTGs will be equipped with active load control, a diesel fuel saver system, auto-steering and a crane management system which, the company said, supports safe and uninterrupted use of the cranes.

They will have a lifting capacity of 50 tonnes to operate in twin-lift operation and will stack one-over-five containers high and six, plus truck lane, wide.

In a statement, the company said that its relationship with TCV now spans over a decade.

TCV is part of Grup Maritim TCB, which operates terminals in Valencia and Barcelona and looks set to buy a further terminal in Castellon.
