Container volumes on the West Coast of the USA fell in April from March’s high levels.
At the country’s biggest port, Los Angeles, throughput fell by 11.8% from March 2015 and by 6.1% year-on-year.
This is perhaps a sign that the backlog of cargo from last year’s strike has finally cleared but that the lost business has not yet returned.
